Modern placenta encapsulation is a discreet, convenient and palatable way of benefiting from the goodness of your placenta post-birth in a simple capsule form.

At Mama Sage we use the Raw Dehydration Method for preparation of the placenta. Unlike the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method we do not steam the placenta during the process, this allows for maximum preservation of vital hormones and nutrients.

The Raw Dehydration preparation process involves washing the placenta thoroughly, raw slicing it into strips which are then heated to food safety temperatures in a dehydrator for 15-20 hours before being finely ground into a powder and filled into vegetarian capsules.

Mama Sage does not sell, market or distribute placenta products to the public. Mama Sage only prepares a mothers own placenta for her own consumption after birth.

A mother’s placenta is legally owned by the mother who birthed that placenta; it is her property and remains her property throughout processing by Mama Sage. Client's of Mama Sage pay for a private food preparation ‘service’ that we provide which preserves their placenta beyond immediate use.  Mothers pays for the knowledge and expertise of Mama Sage in this specialist subject and not for the placenta itself, as she already owns her own placenta (the product).
